If you apply Pesticides on a professional basis and you were born after December 1964 then you are required by lawn to obtain a
City and Guilds National Training Proficiency Council certificate of competence.
Every individual who applied Pesticides will need the
Pa1 foundation module and depending on the method of application thereafter, a separate module for each.
There is not a need, legally, at present for home owners to take any form of competence training but it is worth considering some form of training so that you are comfortable with
Calibration and Application.
One of the most important aspects of any for of chemical application is reading the label.
Only this week, the
Greenkeeper at Haywards Heath golf club erroneously applied Gallup - a total systemic herbicide containing Glyphosate.
As long as the Chemical remains, as it should, in the original container then reading the label will till you what the active ingredient is and the application rate at which the chemical should be applied.
These are the very basis requirements that a Pesticide training course will cover.
