The Lawn Society Social Network - Everything about Lawns and their Care

How useful are the lawn feed and weed products that can be bought in garden centres, compared with, say, the products available in The Lawn Shop? I have about 12 regular lawn care customers, so I am very small scale.
Each year in the spring I shop around for the cheapest feed and weed products available and offer them to my customers at a good price. But, just how good are they? Should I be convincing my customers to pay for the more expensive, separate fertilizers and weed control? Is there something else out there that I have not yet discovered?
Your views would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike - The products in the Lawn Shop are true professional nutrition quality products that just do not compare on nutrient analysis or results. The cost per sqm is cheaper too. It is always wise not to piggy back weed and feed products as a mixture but to apply as seperate applications onto a lawn but at the same time/visit. One granular and one liquid.

In 2010 The Lawn Shop will be selling to formally approved FEPA certificated pesticide holders commercial strength selective and total weed killers alongside the amateur Verdone and Lawn Clear.

Email your total number of sqm of lawn treated each spring and three months ongoing and we will come back to you with some prices that you will find attractive that will also give you a good profit margin for your efforts. Sales@lawn.co.uk. You will never use an amateur garden centre product again. We can supply Worm Cast Control and Soluble Moss Control, Insecticides to control Leatherjackets and Chafer Beetles too, as well as great soluble fertilisers that will easily mix with selective weed killers. Hope this helps you thought process and deliberations! Mike
